WHAT IS KIDS AGAINST HUNGER?
Kids Against Hunger is a volunteer-driven effort to package and distribute food in communities worldwide where hunger and starvation is rampant. It’s about PEOPLE HELPING PEOPLE. Kids Against Hunger believes that every person can make a difference to fight against local, national and global hunger. Knowing that everyone can have an impact, the Kids Against Hunger program has been created to give people an opportunity to have a hands-on part in feeding the world. To this end, Kids Against Hunger utilizes volunteer groups - such as school, church, and scouting troops – to package food and prepare it for distribution to areas of the world where people are starving.
WHY SHOULD I GET INVOLVED?
Kids Against Hunger not only nourishes hungry children and adults, but the spirit of its volunteers as well. Each week, as volunteers package hundreds of much-needed meals, you get a chance to talk, share, laugh and connect during your time together. More importantly, volunteers learn and reaffirm the importance of LOOKING BEYOND OURSELVES and toward SERVING THE NEEDS OF OTHERS.
Check-out the bulletin board for additional information about Kids Against Hunger and Outreach Africa. Take a look at the pictures from the August 19 packaging, too.
